The crux of Pearl’s certification system is accountability and transparency. Pearl can be viewed as a "notary" - whereby Pearl verifies the proper credentials of a party (e.g., a contractor) and then certifies data the credentialed party attests (i.e, first-party certifies) is true and accurate. In the event the data is inaccurate, Pearl has a chain-of-custody to hold the party accountable for the credibility of the data.
Pearl does provide training for - or oversight of - its network members. Every Pearl certification request must pass quality control inspection checks. Pearl’s software has algorithms to automatically flag defects prior to issuance. In addition, Pearl has a 2-step approval and certification process that includes random sampling of certification requests to identify issues that may not have been caught by Pearl’s software.
Well-qualified, committed and supported professionals are best able to deliver the highest quality goods and services. Pearl’s role is to highlight the quality of that work and hold the professional accountable for meeting that high standard.
